“Ciclovía” is a Spanish term that means cycleway, or a temporary closing of streets to automobiles for cyclists and pedestrians. Ciclovia Princeton will temporarily “reimagine” a few roads within town — Walnut Lane from Hamilton Avenue to Guyot Avenue — maximizing this public space with engaging, all-ages activities that bring us together to socialize, get creative, and move freely.
Along the route, you are invited to pick up stretching and mobility tips in free yoga demonstrations, get moving at a Capoeira workshop, brush up your skills in a bike safety area, watch as chalk murals come to life, and discover moments of live music in motion. There will also be a bike decorating contest, where we encourage you to use sourced and recycled materials to transform your bikes. Learn about contest prizes and schedules for each Ciclovia activity on sustainableprinceton.org.
Walk, run, bike, skate, roll, push strollers, dance, and enjoy the road at your own pace. However you move, or whether you simply pull out a lawn chair to take it all in, participate in whatever way feels good for you, car-free and care-free.
Ciclovia Princeton is presented by Sustainable Princeton and the Arts Council of Princeton, with support from the Municipality of Princeton.
Please bring a yoga mat, a water bottle, and sunscreen.
