About Gratitude Yoga
Gratitude Yoga integrates the physical practice of yoga with mindfulness meditation practices and the cultivation of compassion. We seek to nurture a sense of gratitude for the countless gifts we have been given, and to deepen our desire to serve and benefit others.
Our practice focuses on developing strength and flexibility in the body as well as the mind. To that end we infuse the physical practice of yoga with an attitude of compassionate awareness and strive to bring our full presence to each moment, always looking for the balance between enthusiasm and self-acceptance. In this way our yoga practice becomes more than simply a form of physical exercise. It gives us an opportunity to develop qualities like patience, understanding, generosity, and serenity. Ideally it also brings a sense of peace and ease that extends beyond yoga class and into our lives.
Donation Based Practice
Most of Gratitude Yoga’s classes are offered on a donation basis. The suggested donation is $12 per class. There are also opportunities to practice Karma Yoga, the yoga of service, by volunteering to help out with various tasks at the studio.
May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness.
May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.
May all beings never be parted from freedom’s true joy.
